Hiya,
well well i am back from the trip, and it has been a while now, there was a lot to do at home before coming back to my blog. Prague was actually a de-tour, we were suppose to stay in dresden but due to some strikes it was better to spend the day some where else and make it productive, so off we went to Prague.
The trip takes 5 hrs (by road) and we braked at the Gara Hlavni, which is 5 min by walk to the center or 1 metro station to the center. The metro tickets options are (Basic 75min validity -26 CZK, 1 Day 24hr 100 CZK, 3 Day 72hrs 330 CZK, 5 Day 120hrs 500 CZK) there are other options for children and senior citizens, roughly speaking 1 euro = 25 CZK. The metro station in the center is called Muzeum.
The center is long street alligned with shops on both sides. On one end is the meseum, and on the other side (not on the end) by further down is a castle.
Shops range from fast foods chains (KFC, McDonalds, Subway) and other local outlets, as well stalls selling hotdogs or Doner Kabab. We ate at a local restaurant, which offered pizza of your choice for 1 Euro (basically a huge slice of pizzaz), it was great and worth every penny, and along side i ordered chicken curry with chips. It turned out that i could barely finish the pizzza alone, let alone the chicken n chips, which the lady gladely packed for me as my dinner. The total cost of the food was 98CZK (around 4 euro). A typical meal at KFC or McDonald costs around 5-8Euro and it not so filling.
Apart from food shops you find H&M, NewYorker, Zara, orsay, and many other clothings stores, Sephora, MAC, Yves Rocher, Rossmann offering cosmetics, casinos, bars, loads of souviner shops, banks, money exchange outlets, are just a few that i can recall right now. The Money exchange reminds me to tell you that be really careful of the exchanges i have gotten ripped off twice :( ....make sure you go to an 0% commission exchange, and cheack the rate, i exchanged 25 euro and got 380 CZK instead of 625 + CZK which i realized later when its too late, but the good news is that alot of multinational stores also accept payments in Euro.
Around the center there is also the river, which you can check out but i did not have much time to go there. Any ways that all for Prague that i can share with you all!
ciao ciao!
